If you haven't been to a doctor how do you know it's broken?

Getting punched hard in the nose hurts but it doesn't mean it's broken. I've been punched in the face hard enough to knock my front teeth loose for a few weeks but it didn't break my nose, even though it hurt like hell and bled like crazy.

Just go to the doctor if you have insurance. If you don't, just pretend you don't speak English and go to the ER. American health care ftw.

There's actually not much the doctors can do for a broken nose. In most cases, they can't set it so the course of action is typically ice it and take ibuprofen to reduce swelling. I've broken my nose several times and the doctor told me there wasn't anything they could do but control inflammation and hope to God it didn't mess my face up too much.

I say do nothing as well. That amount of swelling and the fact that both of eyes aren't black lead me to think that its not broken (I have gotten two blacks eyes and quite a bit of swelling the 2 times I have broken my nose).

Just gotta see how it turns out. And tell you SO that you are now a snorer.

i'm sure you can find a nose cast around your area. just make sure you get good and drunk and have a girlfriend or a lady friend set the nose in proper alignment for you before you stick the cast on it.

the worst thing you can do is just let it heal on its own without going through the trouble and pain of having set properly. the longer you wait, the worse the pain will be because it's trying to set itself and heal. if your nose is all out of alignment, you're just asking for allergy, snoring, and sinus issues in the future.

yeah, they are reset. i'm surprised your doctor didn't do it.

otherwise, you end up with a deviated septum. if it's bad enough, you'll have to get it rebroken surgically and then realigned.

or you can just go through life looking like this guy

You typically can't reset a small fracture or a chip, which most facial injuries are, without surgery. The bones frequently aren't large enough or stable enough to set.

The last time I broke mine it was under my eye. It was broken in two places. They set it that night in the hospital. It didn't hurt as bad as I expected it to.

stop being a baby, take some pain killers.

if it's not broken no need to waste money.

But using a cast to keep it straight might help to avoid spending even more on plastic surgery.

Years after my two breaks I had to have surgery. They used a hammer and chisel to remove the excess bone growth. 2 weeks of suffering...
