i hated casino war. basically you dont want to go to war cuz you might lose a lot and gain little. and the game was lightning fast!! Basically all i could tell was if the dealer took my money i put money in, and if they give me money i took it back. I didn't remember a single card I had in the half hour i played. Neither did my friend. We left breaking even with confused looks on our faces going what just happened there?

Our experience was totally opposite. IMHO, the action is slower in this game than on other table games. Going to WAR is where you really make some $$ if you win (and this is what generates the excitement at the table). I will agree that there isn't a whole lot of strategy and there won't be too many memorable hands as the pots just aren't that big.

My wife won several hundred bucks at the table - bought me a nice watch at the Venetian shops with her winnings 😀 Double score, she kept busy and I got some bling out of it

the best bang/buck buffet in town IMHO is the paris sunday champagne brunch. it is the most ridiculous buffet i have ever been to (note that i have not been to bellagio)

prime rib, crab cakes, king crab, lamb, etc., etc., etc. and free ***** champagne so you can get loaded

I agree! Great Sunday champagne brunch at what is, in my opinion, an otherwise unimpressive casino that is the Paris.

i always heard that I should visit the pawn shops in vegas.. alot of the gambl-o-holics pawning their stuff.

Screw the Ny/Ny rollercoaster. Long line, low thrill, high price. Go to the Stratosphere and buy a 3-ride pack or a unlimited ride pack. 50 times cooler!

I go to Vegas quite a bit at least 6-7 times a year. My advice would be to avoid buffets period. The better ones cost you as much as going to a good restaurant and the food at a buffet will never measure up. Emeril's Fish House in MGM is really good. If you like authentic Chinese food, then Noodle Asia in the Venetian is really good. Wolfgang Puck's Spago located in the Forum Shops is good and not too expensive as well. I can name more if you are interested pm me.

For gaming, if you are looking to introduce your girlfriend to table gaming, try downtown during the day. Many of the casinos will have dollar and two dollar blackjack. That is much better odds than slots and would get her to table gaming quickly.

As for shows, you can't go wrong with any of the Cirque or Cirque like shows. My favorite was also La Reve, but O, Love, Mystere KA, and Zumanity are all good shows. Blue Men Group was very funny. Danny Gans does a good show if you want to be amazed by a guy doing singing impressions. Unless the show is really new, you can usually pick up half price seats at the half price ticket booth. They have to be purchased the day of the show, but unless you have a particular show you want to hit you will save money. It is much more likely that you will find something on a weekday rather than a weekend so keep that in mind when planning.

I was in Vegas for my first time last week. Here's a few things I enjoyed:

PaiGow poker. You can not loose any money for a half hour of playing and get fed free drinks the entire time. You just have to look around for the cheaper tables. I happened to win a bunch of money that I blew on other games. Came out $15 ahead for the week, which I don't consider bad for a week of drunken gambling.

Our meals at Emeril's Fish House in MGM was very, very good. The bill ran about $100 if I remember correctly for 2 meals and 2 alcoholic beverages.

We rented dune buggies and went crazy in the dunes north of Nellis AFB. That was my favorite part of the trip. They picked us up at the hotel at 1 and we got back at 5:40. It was 112 degrees that day and I didn't feel it at all despite wearing long pants. 35-40 mph through/over dunes, dried up lake beds, boulders, etc. I had a great time. If you do this find the time slot with the fewest other people. Less people = more riding time and fewer stops. We got lucky and it was just the two of us and the guide. The way it worked was pretty much that he was the rabbit we tried to chase. It was great.

I'm tired of typing. Any questions pm me.

PaiGow poker is always my favourite game there. Bacarrat when I want to take things really slow. With PaiGow you get many tie hands thus limit your losses.

Yeah, give us more info on the dune buggie ride. Very interested!

I'm thinking about picking up a couple of $50 Cirque tickets.
Would anyone recommend a particular show between KA, Mystere, Zumanity and O?

I've only seen O, so I can't say if it's better/worse than any of the others, but I thought it was great. I was impressed.

I'm heading to LV with my gf this Wednesday and coming back sunday. I picked up two tickets to Mystere! We're very excited!
