Any tips for someone taking their first accounting class?

Hi all,

I would ask my professor but he has had food poisioning all week and we havent had class. I did really well on the first quiz (high A) which was all sorts of random situtations with keeping up a journal, but I ended up failing the midterm 😱:Q

Anyone have any tips for studying when they took the class? I haven't missed any classes, I do the hw, and I did the practice test (which I did even worse on than the real test.. yikes). I am not looking for an A here, I just want a C- or better. With the shape of the curve, I am right about at the C- part... but I could use some cushin for the final. There are about 700 different kids taking this class in 6 different sections, I got stuck with a grad student instead of a professor.

Schedule for how I study.
Read the chapter including highlighting.
Go over any parts that are confusing
Do the hw.
Goto class to hear lecture about that chapter
Correct the hw.

For test:
Do practice test
Reveiw practice test
look over notes
look over hw
do practice problems.
look over anything that is unclear.

Did I miss something here? I would next test I will read all 4 chapters the day before the test again and just keep going over problems....

Maybe if I studied with someone I know I will do better. I do it in all my other subjects heh

I wish our test was over that but it was waaayyyy harder. Now I know why everyone was complaining about ACCT 211.

The problem that gets me is that when I am doing the HW and he lectures in class.... I understand the material - I fell I know it better than others.
