I was looking at the

Livescribe 8 GB Sky Wi-Fi Propack (APX-00012) with WiFi Pen, SmartPen Portfolio, Starter A5 Notebook and One-Year Subscription to Evernote

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...=ATVPDKIKX0DER

My dad is a therapist and as such takes a LOT of notes.

We have been trying to find something that would allow him to take all his notes digitally so he can move off of a paper system. I think this needs some type of special paper, which is then still paper so it doesnt save us anything.

What we would like is something like a tablet where he can write on the tablet and it would just save the page and he could keep writing and saving. We could add all his files digitally and he can just go from there.

What do you guys think?

also do you know what the pen is here?

I like this

http://evernote.com/penultimate/

but is there an android equivalent?

I edited your title to better reflect your question. Lightscribe is a totally different animal.

The therapist takes notes, but that action should not consume his or her thought process to the point that it tends to override the therapy. IOW, the note taking system must be somewhat automatic and not require much action on the part of the therapist. Livescribe sounds like a useful tool in this regard.

You might also consider something like Dragon Naturally Speaking where the "note taking" is the recording and transcribing of actual speech.

Am not familiar enough with Android apps to comment except that post therapy editing might be easier of a regular keyboarded machine.

He wont be able to use dragon because alot of notes are abbreviations and special wording. Plus then the client will hear what hes saying about them and assessing lol
