Any Thoughts About STM vs Renesas

We are doing a new embedded system and we prefer a microcontroller from Renesas and the company designing the hardware for us prefer STM. They hinted that the chip from STM (an ARM chip) had more staying power than the chip from Renesas.

STM32F76 vs RX630

Any thoughts on the ARM chip (I have no familiarity with ARM) and STM would be appreciated.

I've heard of STM, I've never heard of RX. I don't know if that means anything about stayability.
