Any TetriNET players on this forum?

I recently got back into TetriNET, which is now in version 1.13. For those who do not know, TetriNET is a stripped-down IRC client based around online Tetris. Besides the normal gameplay are special blocks which allow you to help yourself or hurt another person.

This week I am starting a tournament with my Half-Life mod friends, hopefully every Thursday. If we get enough people, then I could start an ongoing league with some assistance. PM me if you wish to participate in the future.

Currently I am running a server which is online roughly from 9AM - Midnight EST, with occasional downtime, which can hold a decent number of people. If someone with a T1 or better could host a permanent server for me to use, it would be greatly appreciated. The client runs off of Java, so I can control everything the server needs from my own computer, including the Admin client, once the files are installed.

The IP address for my server is 65.9.156.175, running on an @Home cable connection.

hell yea ! tetrinet owns, it destroyed productivity at my old work and set us back forever, hehe.

so simple and addictive, the competition's always fierce. i did a tourney with my friends who used to play, maybe got a simple ladder of 10 or so people, always wanted more but couldn't find enough people. i'd totally be down, i could host a server next year as well if things work out (it's not like it requires a lot of bandwidth). lemme know if you want help on the league idea

I remember when this was the rave back in high school, about 4 years ago. It sucked up a lot of my free time. Is the cheating still rampant?

how do you cheat ? i know you can hack your own high score, but how could you cheat otherwise? ppl can view your screen

Some of the pub servers have cheat guards now. When you connect, it goes right to game mode for a couple seconds to see if the client has cheat running. If not, it spits you to the chat chan, if so, it kicks you off.
