I had a drive fail that contained all the updates. SUS will not let me uninstall it. When I try and repair it, it still lists all the updates it used to have and will not refresh. Does anyone know how to clear everything?

thanks

I'm not aware of a way to manually uninstall SUS. I'd speculate that it could be possible by finding the related MSIs in your Windows installer directory and uninstalling them, than remove the SUS registry keys and directories. But I dont know for certain that this would work.

Anyway, what I really suggest is that you take this opportunity to get WSUS running. It's MUCH better than SUS.

Good luck,

Sorry JonnyBlaze, I've never had that problem and am not sure how to fix. Re-installing the OS and SUS is pretty easy though, and you may just consider doing that unless if you have a lot of specific updates that you chose to not approve or something.

As for WSUS, I thought it was still "beta". Maybe MS just released it though, I'll have to read more.

Of course, the A answer is to restore the failed drive from a backup to a new drive.

Or I think you could edit/kill/rename the Windows Update.log file.
