When I booted my machine, no video until windows came up. I can't see the POST. I did a dumb thing and thought maybe the bios got corrupted and reflashed the bios. Now nothing happens, HD just spins and no POST sounds at all except for a beep and my scanner seems to get tested. I have an Abit NF7 v2 w/Athlon 2800+, 1GB Crutial 2700 DDR, PNY 6600GT, Maxtor 160GB HD, 550w PS, Lian Li case. HD works in backup machine just fine. Strange thing, backup machine vid card has DVI out and when I connected my LCD to it, it didn't get any video but when I connected my CRT....it worked. Maybe I need to adjust the resolution to something the lcd could recognise. Anyway, any suggestions other than buying a new mobo? Thanks for any help.

your original problem --> the VGA output on your 6600GT was the default output, so it only displayed on that until windows started and turned on the DVI signal.

your new problem --> the cmos chip on your abit nf7 is fubar. find a new one, or buy a new board.

When I reflashed my bios it said it was accomplished successfully. I'll fire it back up and see if it comes up. If not, new mobo time I guess.

Went ahead and ordered a replacement bios chip from Abit. Hope that solves the problem. I don't know about the other mobo companies but the Abit parts store makes finding those few parts and ordering them very easy.
