I'm planning to upgrade my video card from the GeForce 2 card I have to a GeForce 4. I don't have a clue on which one to get but I know that I want a GeForce4 Ti 4x00. My price range is from $150 - $250. Can anyone help and tell me which G4 Ti cards are good and for a low price. Thanx.

i say get the 4200 with 128mb, the rest of the cash it would have taken to get a 4600 is beter spent someplace else or saved for the next videocard. granted if you happen to find a sweet deal where you wouldnt pay much more for the 4400 or 4600 you would be a fool to pass it up.

I think the MSI 4400 is the best deal... $184 is only a bit more then the 4200 128MB and its nothing but a PNY 4400.

Gainward and Leadtek are my favourite brands.

What are your system specs? What games do you play and at what settings do you play them at?

For OC Gainward is probably best choice, for low price and great software bundle then the MSI is the clear winner, all GF4 Ti4200s will overclock, but some more then others, yes go with 128mb version.

athlon XP 2000+
Asus A7S333 Mobo
Micron PC2100 256 MB DDRAM
Sound Blaster Live Card
GeForce2 MMX Vid card
80 GB 7200 RPM Western Digital Hard Drive

The games I play are strategy games like Warcraft 3 and first person shooter games like Aliens vs. Predator 2

What do you mean by settings? If its the display mode...I play it at 1024 x 768 i believe.

In that case buy the fastest Ti4x00 you can afford, unless you're only using the card to tide you over until the NV30 arrives.
