Any such thing as a 3-pin to 2-pin front panel converter?

You know the usual front panel connections...

My case comes with a 3-pin power LED connector. The motherboard can only use a two pin. The motherboard's manual actually suggested pulling the pins out, or cutting the connector in half, and connecting the pins that way. I'm not a huge fan of that, so I'd rather get some sort of converter if such a thing exists. I don't know if the middle pin slot even has any conductors in it, or I'd try shorting the second and third slots, then connecting the first and second to the motherboard.

Any ideas or suggestions?

Never heard of a converter. If necessary, I cut the connector in half.

Many motherboards have TWO SETS of LED connectors, one with three pins and one with two pins. The second connector set is sometimes obscurely labelled and likely isn't in the same bank of connectors, so double-check that you don't have one.

You can find it at fry's or newegg, search for 2 pin 3 pin adapter.

Do what the motherboard manual says. It is a piece of cake to pull the pin out of the connecter and put it in the middle slot. You just need something like a tiny screwdriver or a sharp blade. Stick it under the black plastic tab and the metal connector will come right out. Then you slide it in the middle hole and it locks right in. I've done this many times.
