Well darn, neither the AT&T or T-Mobile store in my area had one in store to check out. I still have a month more to wait thanks to Verizon. :(

I thought you would never ask, here is the gs4 spanking the htc one in low light tests haha

http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s4_vs_htc_one-review-913p10.php

Winner: Samsung Galaxy S4. Surprisingly, the Samsung Galaxy S4 has the better low-light camera performance. You'll have to snap several photos to make sure you have a good one, but the end result will be better than what the HTC One produces. The Galaxy S4 has a slight advantage in low-light video too.

and also who the heck cares about low light anyways,we don't buy phones for taking pictures in the dark

It's obvious that a camera with higher megapixels can handle a larger area better. You're not fooling anyone with that comparison...

Nah, I like reading your stupid basement dweller posts, its very entertaining.

Your just butt-hurt because samsung is not the evil entity you constantly try to make it out to be.

I for one will be getting the S4 primarily for the camera and screen. I already have the S3 and will hand it off to my son and sell off his S1.

Then why are you asking me to "STFU" if you enjoy reading my "stupid basement dweller" posts? Just sit back, relax, and enjoy the show. For the record, Samsung is an immoral company. They would be close to Mitsubishi of Japan when it comes to their immorality. But this isn't shocking considering Samsung is literally Mitsubishi in Korean (three stars). If Samsung could have their own prison colony like Mitsubishi, they would. But they have to settle for endemic corruption of a nation's justice system and poison.

What is your response to the amoled gs4 beating the iphone 5 in color accuracy? You seem to love using words like horrible when talking about samsungs amoled screens and just wondering how you feel about the horrible gs4 screen now

I'm not convinced at that graph and certainly not by the pics. I'll have to see with my own eyes.

I went from an iPhone 4s to Note 2. I played with the HTC One in the store and it wasn't good enough to warrant me to upgrade from the Note 2. I'll probably skip out on the S4 too and wait for the Note 3. Samsung will usually fix up some of the things they did wrong on the Galaxy S and add additional features on the Note.

For instance, I would value a universal, device-wide Smart Scroll that works on any app, browsers, documents, etc,. whoever made those. It can be very helpful for one-handed operation when my other hand is busy. But my understanding is that Smart Scroll works only with certain (read: Samsung) apps.

This creates disconnect and confusion in user experience. If Samsung's approach was more to finish/perfection, I have no doubt they could have achieved a device-wide Smart Scroll. Instead, they went with [unrefined] technology showcasing (a.k.a. kitchen sink) strategy.

Samsung Hub is also problematic. Hopefully it is uninstall-able.

Oh this is fun... we have grkM3 who hates everything non-Samsung and we have Dari who hates everything Samsung.

In any case, we should probably start seeing S4s in-store tomorrow. It looks like they locked everything down until consumers actually get their pre-orders.

How do you set people to ignore? Can't seem to find it...
Go to their profile page: there's a drop-down there.

I'm actually surprised anyone still reads him.
I think every review I've ready (Anandtech, engagdget, gsmarena) has repeated that the S4 has the best daylight camera, the HTC One has the best low light.
Actually, a number of reviews, which are among the more detailed (GSM Arena, that Russian site, and its blind audience poll) have the S4 beating the One in low-light too.

More accurate? Yeah right, they added an extra green pixel. But I'd love to be proven wrong. When this device becomes available I'll check it out.

The AMOLED screen on the Galaxy S4 now produces more accurate colors than the iPhone 5 and HTC One.
http://www.anandtech.com/show/6914/samsung-galaxy-s-4-review/8

When are you going to stop spreading FUD about Samsung's AMOLED screens?
Anandtech shows the color accuracy is better.
GSM Arena shows the same thing.

You have been proven wrong time and time again.
When are you going to give up?

Both of them should get married and have a baby.
They're a perfect match for each other made in heaven.

Isn't Smart Stay the feature where the screen stays on as long as you're looking at it? That is device wide. You must be talking about the other features that aren't, but I don't see how they could possibly be device wide. They can't make the Gmail app use airview for example, because Gmail is Google's app, not Samsung.

OP, all the "Smart" features exist to show "what the iPhone can't do!" on commercials. As long as you look at it as marketing fluff then the lack of functionality is not so bad. Samsung needs this garbage because people can't look at a SGS4 (compared to a SGS3) and figure out why its an upgrade otherwise.

If you can quote where he says that I'd love to read it because I didn't find it. With that said, my own eyes will determine whether or not things have gotten better on the SAMOLED front...

Yup.
If I got this phone, I'd disable all those features immediately.

Those features are nothing but gimmicks and marketing fluff.

Look at the picture of the dots touching all those boxes and compare them to the other phones there?
Do you really need an explanation or a quote when the picture describes the same thing?

If the dots hits those boxes or touches them, then it means the color accuracy is right on target.
If it's out of the box or doesn't touch them then it means it missed.

I see. Interesting. Now, let's see how it looks IRL. Do you suggest any settings when I do encounter a GS4?

why bother you wont buy it even if its the best device out.You hate Samsung more then apple does.

you posted this morning this in another thread

"A predictable upgrade with half-baked software implementations. What a joke, but at least they're trying. Maybe they should do what Apple does and buy these firms and really integrate their software into their products instead of licensing them. Not even Samsung can afford to spend $12B every year on marketing to keep sales up. And that AMOLED screen. My G-d is it awful. BTW, I'm waiting for that S Ex software. Come on, Samsung, I know you can do it."

The reviews on the gs4 screen have been out for over a month and yet you just post fud about Samsung

oh my gawdd its so awfulll...please

I meant Smart Scroll. Sorry for the confusion and I edited my post. But even for that feature you mention (Air Hover?) - I see no reason why it can't be employed system-wide. Aren't there Gmail preview apps and widgets made by no-name developers?

Ultimately my point is that Samsung should have weighed the features, decided what's going to be the most helpful for users, and tried to perfect those instead of throwing in every immature feature that they imagined.

But those aren't the actual Gmail app.

And I'm assuming Samsung prefers it this away as you get users into your ecosystem. Want to use that nifty feature? Gotta use the Samsung email app or calender or movie player or keyboard, etc.

Of course I won't buy the GS4. However, I would buy the Note III if it's as good as the benchmarks claim and came with a similar or better AMOLED screen. I'm in the market for a large phone (phablet as some call it) and I was looking at the Optimus G Pro but, if the GS4 is convincingly good then, most likely, the Note III would be better. It still won't change my opinion about what Samsung is doing to Korean justice but, then again, I don't live in Korea and never will. FWIW, I have a Samsung Blu-ray drive in my PC so I don't know what "hatred" you're talking about. Finally, I praise the company's hardware from time to time but you must ignore that as well. You'd do everyone a favor if you took of your blinders and start seeing the world as it is rather than how you want it to be...

I think yours and my definition of "hatred" are completely different. I've been in some very f***-up places on earth and this "hatred" you speak of is laughable by comparison. You remind me of the guy on theverge, Nilay, I believe, who says things like "it's depressing" when it comes to the state of carrier contracts. It isn't "depressing" and people need to take things into context when they use such words. BTW, I praised their hardware in post #16 of this very thread. Also, S44 is obsessed with Japanese people so he thinks I am one. But I'm not. I have even PMed him but he seems to be stuck on stupid regarding that so keep quoting me to annoy him. I am American and my ancestors have been here for over 300 years.
