no ... I think the biggist allowed in the USA are 50mg flash powder .. which really is not all that much. I live in Illinois ... and i know nothing is legal here, Indiana and Missouri have some wicked cool fireworks places, same with Tennesee.

I'd like to get my hands on some 'blockbusters', much bigger than an m80. Rock the block !

When I lived up in Washington state my friends and me would always go to the Nisqually reservation and pick up our grade A bang bangs

Yep.

Though I don't understand why they get all the cool stuff just because they can't read or write or do anything useful.

I remmeber back in the day when we were little kiddies, we used to pop m80s in the coin return of public phones, grab all the quarters, and buy more m80s. Lather, rinse, repeat.

I can neither admit nor deny culpability in such actions.:p

I still can barely believe kids used to play with these. I was talking to some guys at work and damn...I've seen pics of people who had one blow up in their hand. Not good. Talk about bloody dangerous!

Before paintball, we used to have BB gun wars (street bock rule was only 2 pumps).

How similar are M-98s? Phantom Fireworks sells those as a "legal M-80" firework.

Do you have a link. I don't remember but M80's were huge and heavy. No firework in years I have seen comes close to it's size or weight.

From personal experiences I would say M-98's are about 1/4 to 1/3 the power of a M-80.

Ahh... the good 'ol days :)

I sure am glad that I'm not a kid today. They're not allowed to have any fun. :(

Anyway, yeah... hit an Indian Res if you can. Sometimes they have the big stuff under the counter and you have to ask (and sometimes bribe) in order to get them.

Those were the good ole days.. Now the only time you see a kid with a bb gun, they end up getting arrested for being up to no good..

Well I would'nt do it if it's illegal in the state. Mainly we were thinking about traveling for the fourth and I thought It might be a good idea (since we did'nt have any place in mind) to show my boys these in state where legal. Alas they will miss it, like they missed steel high speed merry-go-rounds of yesteryear:(

Well come on up to Portland if you want to see it. While the big fireworks are illegal here, you wouldn't know it. The close proximity of a lot of Indian Reservations plus lax enforcement of fireworks laws makes for a big bang every year. Big mortar balls and M-80's everywhere. I remember driving the length of the city on I-5 on the afternoon of the 4th from my old place in outer SW to my sister's in North (you can view the big Vancouver Fireworks celebration, biggest on the west coast, from her house) like 2 years ago, and the entire city was blanketed from the smoke of fireworks. The park a few blocks from her house was like a war zone.

It was very cool :D

Man I think I saw a special on PBS about that place and the Indians who count on that revenue. Nice and green. In Ca sparklers are still legal.
