Any St. Louis ATOTers?

Hey everyone. My wife and I are at the Roberts Mayfield hotel in St. Louis (near 8th and Washington) for a convention and are looking for a decent place to eat out at that's nearby. Nothing crazy fancy. Just somewhere nicer than like a TGI Fridays. Any recommendations?

Edit: Places for after dinner (live music, nicer bars, etc.) suggestions are welcome as well.

Supposedly Imo's pizza is worth trying. I've heard mixed reviews about it. Apparently they use provel cheese, which is some kind of weird blend. It seems like some people love it and others absolutely hate it. If I ever go there, I'm going to give it a shot.

Edit: looks like we may try Sauce on the Side. Not so much nice but the calzones sound good and filling.

You either love or hate imos. I love it, get the deluxe as it is awesome. Provel is a mix of cheddar, provolone and swiss.

Schlafy tap room could be an option. It is not too expensive and you can get some good beer too.

A bit more expensive, but you could try mosaic.

Pappys smokehouse isn't too far, but they run out fast.

Bars and music? No idea, we don't frequent that scene.

If you decide to venture out of downtown you'll get more recommendations from me.

Thanks, how are the prices? We'll be in STL later this year.

Very good. My wife and I both got "The Fold" which started at $6 and it was a $1-$1.50 for each additional filling (sausage, bacon, mushrooms, etc.). It comes with a sauce and each additional dipping sauce was $.75. For the two of us with me having a beer and my wife having pop it was between $20-25 total. The calzones are large though so it will fill you up. They even have dessert calzones.

I do recommend if you are staying at a hotel to stay at the Drury Inn. We stayed there before and it was really nice. We are at the Robert Mayfield and it is horrible. There's a huge tv armoire literally in the middle of the room and the doors open wide so you can't really walk around it.

The first room we were in the tv didnt work. Called down to have it fixed and was told someone was coming. 45 minutes later, called down again. They said they'd send someone right away. 25 minutes later same thing. Finally the guy came up saying he was told the wrong room number. He looked at the tv for 20 minutes and couldn't figure it out. We then got switched rooms.

Go to new room and its a sauna. Turn on the air on full blast and went to dinner. Came back and it was even hotter. The "air" was blowing heat the entire time. Walls are paper thin and the toilets are extraordinarily loud. Elevator can comfortably fit like 5 people they're that small. What worries me is I read the reviews and I see a lot of people had billing issues. Hope I am not one of them.
