Any special procedures needed to replace an Nvidia card with an ATi?

All,

I've just bought a Radeon 9800 Pro to replace my old GeForce 3. I planned on simply uninstalling the Nvidia drivers, swapping the card, installing the Catalyst drivers, and then reinstalling DirectX 9.0b. I've got both Catalyst 3.7 and 3.8 downloaded; I planned on trying 3.8 first, despite the rumors of problems with it. Anyone got any other advice on how to make sure the switch goes smoothly?

Thanks in advance.

Use DriverCleaner to make sure you get every trace of the Nvidia drivers out of your system.

That'll do fine. In fact you don't even need to reinstall DirectX.

Thanks for the advice. I used DriverCleaner along with the steps I mentioned and everything went smoothly.
