any software that blurs an image?

Hi,

I was wondering is there any software, where I can take a picture of something and then create a blur effect as if the camera was out of focus?

Thank you!

but photoshop is really expensive, and we would never think about obtaining it in less appropriate ways :x 😛

Or you could download the free 30-day demo...

good god is that expensive... anything in the $0 - $200 range?
Corel Paintshop Pro is only $99 and has a gaussian blur filter, which seems to be what you want. But again, if you don't plan to use it a lot just get the demo.

Microsoft Photo Editor - this software comes with MS Office, but may not be installed with default installation options.

There is a "soften" effect that will probably do what you want.

Free and comes with gaussian blur, motion blur and radial blur.

Agreed. Fvcking awesome considering it's free. Easier to use than the GIMP.

That is a lot like saying MS Paint is a lot easier to use than Photoshop.
The new version 2 of Gimp is a lot easier to use than previous versions so check it out.
Paint.NET is awesome but is highly limited. Especially when working with a few images at once.
Gimp can do almost anything Photoshop does and is a lot easier to use than Photoshop on a few operations.

Awesome... Thanks for all the suggestions. I did download pain.net 2.5 and it seems pretty cool. I will try all the others to and see which one i like the best!

For "regular" users, Paint.NET is easier. Sure, GIMP is more powerful, but if they're just looking to blur something or add some text, Paint.NET is a far better bet.

i hate paint.net... especially the way it handles layers and text... at least by default... I'm so used to how photoshop works I guess. however, for the OP, I'm sure it's more than enough.
