My 8meg smartmedia card lost all the pictures taken by an olympus camera but there is still used space on the "disk". I tried scanning for errors and looking at the card under dos. but is there any way i can take a look at the card's contents in a more detailed view? Or is there anway i can recover the data? My mom took a bunch of pictures and the ignorant little woman is yelling and screaming cuz she doesn't know whats going on. Thanks in advance. I don't feel like getting my ass kicked by a 45 year old mom.

edit:
yeah i forgot to mention that the directory structure was still "in contact" and that the camera said the card was full. So its not the computers fault misreading anything..

whatever the data status is at now... make a copy of it... then smack that ho(joking)

once you have a copy you can futz with and try all sorts of freeware/shareware/warez apps on it to recover the data.

Norton Disk Doctor (part of Norton Utilities, downloadable as shareware from www.Symantec.com)
Also, Ontrack recovery software (from someone.. search the Web), but it's less mature.

Of course, also Norton's Undelete/Unerase program - also part of Norton Utilities

Seriously guys. How unlogical (sp?) is this.. She gets mad so she says shes going to be driving MY truck from now on. To add insult to injury, im 17.. MY TRUCK? heres a little story from tonite after we get back from a christianing that she took the pics at:

I cleaned the back of the lexus cuz my dad told me to take everything out. I guess she gets mad at me for cleaning all the napkins and random crap that was on the floor. So she goes to me "let me take out all your junk out of your truck and trash it". I go "oh mom!? are you goign to clean my car, please do so" and she goes "no im gonna trash it, im gonna throw everything out on the ground or in the trash" so she runs outside and I unlock my car and lo and behold there is not a single piece of "trash" in my car except a phone book and my brother's school paper. So she goes in a dramatic scene and throws them (the two things) on the ground. and i go "hahahah mom, whose car is cleaner, you didn't find anything did you hahaha" and then she runs back into the house. Takes the keys to our brand new lexus (2 days old) and screaches off. Theres more to her little drama story but i'd be sharing too much. Eh. it could be worse. THANKS A LOT GUYS.. :)
