All of the newer AMD and Intel boards take 4GB DDR3 dimms, AM3, 1156, 1155, 1366. But I was wondering about the older Socket 775 boards. None of the DDR2 chipsets for 775 took larger than 2GB DIMM, I think, with the possible exception of P45, which might have taken 4GB DDR2. But many of those chipsets could also take DDR3. Anyone know of ones that could take 4GB DIMMs? What about chipsets that are cut-down derivatives of P45? G41/G43?
