I'm looking for a notebook for daily use and some occasional light gaming. Diablo 3, starcraft 2, Civ V, SimCity when it comes out. No FPS type games. It will be used for complicated excel spreadsheets (hence a large screen), surfing the net, and general PC use.
I have a Microsoft Surface that I take to school, but it isn't very good displaying my excel spreadsheets so I sometimes lug around a massive older 17" Sony core 2 quad that just bit the dust (it started smoking when the fan died and I didn't notice until too late). This PC will be mostly for desktop use and occasionally taken to school.
I've only done some casual looking around and I found the 15" Sony S series fit my needs pretty well except for the 15" screen. The Sony was slim (non replaceable Li polymer batter which made it slim), had an i7, and an Nvidia 640m LE which I'm hoping is enough for light gaming. I might go with this Sony or another 15 incher but I was hoping to find some 17" model that isn't $2500 like the Razor which looks awesome for my needs.
Budget is whatever it will take to get what I need, but within reason. The Razor is just not a good deal. This Sony is about $1000.
