My MSI RX9800 PRO (green version, underclocked XT) gives off a high pitched noise due to the high RPM of the HSF. (i've confirmed this too)

are there any simple non-warranty voiding solutions to reducing some of the noise? Is there anything in programs such as ATI Tool that can do anything?

of course, when gaming I don't want to lose any performance, but when just surfing, but I'd like reduced noise when I'm just surfing the web.

The 9800 pro is a noisy sucker, which is why many buy the artic silencer thing. I put a zalman passive heatpipe on my 9700pro for the same reason.

Naww get the arctic cooling vga rev 3. I think its only $20 on newegg. Its really quiet and circulates alot of air in your pc esp around teh graphics card.
