I pursue far more jets than armor, but I don't disagree with your assessment. I wouldn't mind if it took longer to load the bombs, but I know plenty that would. I've been flying for a while now & the timing seems right to me. As I mentioned, I've been on both sides of this argument for a long time now.

You want 1 on 1?

I just think that seeing jet pilots with 100+ kills per round(out of 300 tickets for a whole team of 32 people, how can you call that balanced) drives a lot of folks who prefer playing on the ground to non-jet maps, which is sad, really, when a little bit of balance could fix it and the jet maps could be the best ones. Of course, since most maps only have 4 jets(2 per side) at the maximum, the other 60 either better get used to boots on the ground, of course we still always see 3-4 per team waiting the whole round for jets rather than risking their k/d to cap flags.

What's more powerful than a jet fighter in bf2? I'm guessing nothing.

There would be no reason for you to complain if you learned to fly. It's part of the game. Everyone has to start somewhere. noob!

I'm game...usually play on the ISI server. You'll have to let me know when you're on, since I spend a lot of time in the attack helo's working on this last badge.

Ahhh... I've been to that server before... It's Christian server right? The 3 star admin kept getting pissed and tried to accuse me of cheating because I pwned him every time on his jet. :whiste:

Do you dogfight? 1 on 1? What is your BF2 user ID? I ask because you said you've been flying a long time. I've been flying maybe 2 years intensively and always improving.

We can goto XXdom's IDF server Wake Airshow map. It's for dogfight only 1 on 1.

PM I'll give you the password to get into that server. Anytime you want 1 on 1 I'm usually online.

Yea it's a Christian server & they're good people. I haven't seen them accuse anyone of cheating, if anything, they usually kick folks for accusing people of cheating without proof.

Either way, I spend most of my BF2 time there. I usually have <30 ping which works well.

I don't specifically call people out to a dogfight, I just go after whomever is in a jet or helo.

Oh Ok. Do you feel that you are the best in that server? Do you feel challenged? If you don't get challenged how do you improve yourself?

For me I don't have much challenge taking out the entire clan or most servers with 1 jet every round. Admins get pissed. Soon enough they accuse you of cheating. It's like that in most if not all pub servers. I've been innocently banned out of servers because of it. So I don't fly in my regular servers I play unless a decent pilot is in the other team is raping my team.

Badges are a waste of time when you get pwned by privates.

I always play to improve my game & have fun at the same time. I only recently picked up flying, spent most of my time in armor before that.

I'm not a big fan of being in a helo, so I'll probably call it a day once I get the badge, which I need for the 3*.

If you like hovering in the heli you are definitely getting fragged by my jet. :p

Nah, I always tell the pilot not to stay in one spot for more than a few seconds. I like to keep things moving & active. Helos are easy targets for jets. They're my 2nd favorite target.

I disagree. We shouldn't have to fly over the strip 4 times to get repaired, ridiculous (not you, the act).

right. it's ridiculous. jets should land to get any sort of repairs.

I like the realistic part of the game, that's what makes it so addicting.

and then you go and say this... so flying over the landing strip few times should repair the jets just like in real life?

Noob. :p

I never said I was best now but yeah public servers are a joke. Pilots don't have a home in public servers.

Even the best heli pilot can't out do a mediocre jet pilot. You might get lucky once or twice with the TV but heli is no match for jet.

I too love flying heli solo style. I TV jets down too but mostly noobs who attack straight on.

If I'm going to attack a heli with a jet I'm going to circle above the heli and attack from the sides or tail so yeah no TV for you. :p

If you do decide to play on the ISI server, don't forget they have a line policy.

Nothing like taking something someone says on the net out of context. I was referring to the power capabilities of the jets / helos, specifically the bombs & missiles.

I think it's pretty obvious you'd have to land an aircraft in order to repair it in real life. Didn't think that needed to be said.

Too funny.

I do play there from time to time but the maps cycle a lot so I usually disconnect on maps I don't like.

What is your BF2 ID?

This might be stating the obvious, but it's not so much that jets are overpowered - it's good pilots that are overpowered. I'm not trying to be overly simplistic here but even mediocre pilots could be nuetralized somewhat in BF2, the tools were there. I know, I was a mediocre pilot myself - I had my share of 70+ kill games but I needed ideal situations to get that many - no good enemy pilots, no concerted effort to man the AA turrets, and matches had to be long and drawn out despite the overwhelming air dominance. Otherwise time was the enemy in racking up kills - if an enemy pilot was good I'd have to spend time evading/dogfighting, if enemy AA turrets were a nuisance I'd have to adjust tactics which meant less time attacking ground targets/spawn zones.

Anyway, yeah. It was easy to derail me, but the good pilots could just crush and that's where things got screwy balance-wise.

So you want only certain aspects to be realistic that help it, not realistic that would lower it's value. Got ya.
