Any Sandforce problems on Mac?

Has anyone heard of the Sandforce 2xxx nightmare being a problem on Macs?

I don't seem to hear about as many problems there, not sure if the reason is:

1) There are less Macs out there so you hear less reports

2) It actually has less problems since there were fewer BIOS(EFI)/hardware/etc combinations for them to test and they actually managed to stabilize that platform


(btw - I know Macs had major 6G port problems but that was shown to be across different drive types so I'm looking at one nightmare at a time)
 
We have some MacBook Pro's here using OWC (SandForce 2xxx based) drives and no weird issues at all. But your mileage may vary.
 
most of the problems i saw were on the older ich9 - macbook pro 2009 and 2010-mid have no problems but honestly i'd go for something like a kingston $1/gb which have alot of garbage collection - and i've picked up a few $1.05/gb pull (3hr~) hp branded intel x25-m's which work AWESOME 1000% stable 160gb 🙂
