Any Rise Against fans here?

The sufferer and the witness is (IMO) their best album. they keep surprising me with each of the new albums not letting me down AT ALL. I get worried after what AFI turned in to =)
Anyways, just seenin if anyone eles here was in to rise against. It was actually from ATOT that I heard about them (thank you to whoever recommended them- it was back when they just had put out the Unravling)
So ya, if you have any interest in punk music you should check them out- they're not too hard core, more melodic punk almost, but great music to get ya in a good mood, and very good live.

I love em, have since the first album. Probably my favorite "angry" band....first 2 tracks off the new disk are amazing, rest of the CD is sub par in compaison to older material.

I disagree...I think their 2 slower songs on this CD are not good, but the last couple tracks IMO are amazing

I have their last album (Siren Song of the Counterculture) and I thought it was great. I still haven't checked out their new album but I want to.

only heard em on what's been playing on sirius faction and octane....not very impressed at all - at first i was a bit annoyed cuz i felt like they were going for name recognition playing off rage, but then realized it was nothing of the sort, still haven't heard anything impressive by them

i listened to two whole albums. they're too pop punky for me. the lead singer's voice is too commercial sounding. i got tired of them REAL quick and deleted them off my itunes.

indie, mainly.

mojave 3, pinback, built to spill, elliott smith, death cab, zero 7, nada surf, the shins, the russian futurists, etc.

Ah- gotcha. The last year or two I've actually been getting in to that type of music as well...it's interesting though that you think rise against is too popy when bands like the shins and death cab imo are very close to straight pop music. Is it just the pop punk genre you dont like? I hate bands like good charlotte/fall out boy/Panic etc but I wouldnt put Rise Against in to that group
