Any Reputable Online Custom PC Builders

Its time to upgrade my gaming pc. wish i could do it myself, but im disabled. i was gonna go with a local pc shop for assembly, but alot of dragging componants around. is there a number of reputable online places that custom build gaming pc's and ship the finished rig? i know alienware, but expensive. anyplace reasonable? thanks

If I may go on second hand information, a friend of mine built a custom gaming PC from Monarch Computer. He seems happy with it and the price wasn't as steep as Alienware computers (of course, they're not as fancy). I find better favor with VoodooPC computers over Alienware but their line is just as pricey. So other than that and your local retailers (If they do assembly) I can't recommend much else.

I've bought stuff from them in the past and they really know what they're doing. I bought parts, not a whole system; but you should get a good quality highly customized system from them.

ibuypower is also reasonably priced. Monarch has gotten alot of bad reviews due to the awful wait that some people have for their machines.

I always suggest building a custom machine yourself so that you can specify quality components... otherwise DELL is a good option.

If you're in the SoCAL area I would be willing to build something for you.

You might want to try ibuypower too. I haven't used them myself, but they seem to have more options than most builders and their prices are reasonable.

hi guys. im in florida. unfortunately, ive read bad things about ibuy and monarch. its a shame. i wish i couldfind a guy with experience who could come out to my house and build it here without charging an arm and a leg.

I've bought a mobo combo from Monarch. Paid 7-day shipping, should have taken 3 days to test too. It was shipped the next day with 2-day Fedex shipping. That's what I call service. Highly recommended.

you can always order all your parts and have a computer store near you put everything togeather for you ! COMPUSA near my house will assemble a whole pc for you for around 100 bucks not bad i think !

Computers just plain take a long time to ship because of the size and the "basic rate ground shipping" which is applied. My friend bought an Alienware 3 years ago that took 3 weeks to deliver ground shipping. It's nothing new. It's not the seller's fault UPS/Fedex/DHL has a bottom line. After all, you paid the shipper for shipping, not the seller.

Most of places I've gone for pre-built comps (before I started installing them myself) took at most 3-4 days to put it together.

ABS. Almost forgot about them. Never did get any PC stuff from there, tho, but others have said they were good.

Maybe he's wheelchair bound and lacks some mobility, so can't go to local stores too easily?
Paralysed != disabled. Many disabled people can use their arms, but maybe just lost the use of legs.

Use Monarch at your own risk. There are a lot of people who recommend them based on buying individual parts or maybe a comb, but their custom built PC's are an entire different story.
They are typically waaaay past the 8-13 business days they state, and their first week failure rate is astounding IMO. Monarch would be the last place I would look for a custom PC.

A few friends of mine used www.cyberpowersystem.com Non of which had any complaints. One had to RMA a mobo, but that could happen regardless of who you order from. He said when he did RMA it they were great!

thanks for the input guys. disabled can mean alot of things...hehe. im in a wheelchair with limited arm/hand strength. good enough to use mouse/keyboard but not enough to put together a computer.

as far as ordering online and having it assembled at a compusa, bestbuy etc.. are they trustworthy...to use my componants or should i be concerned about them swapping some of my stuff for cheaper substitutes. maybe im paranoid
also, are they normallyskilled enough in the newest systems.

That most likey depends on who happens to be working that day.

As for cyberpower, I do not know anyone personally that has used them, but I have been to their site many times and they have very reasonable prices. I have read of a few problems from them, but nothing that seemed too unusual. You should definitely at least check them out.
