Some people are just fucking noisy. I live above a business and my bedroom is below their 2 back doors. When some of them go in or out they will slam both freaking doors and I know for a fact the one door can be shut with my pinky so there is no need for it to be slammed. I'm pretty sure the other door is the same way because the owner is usually quiet when coming and going on the weekends. I could read into it that they are doing it on purpose but the fact is some people just slam doors instead of shutting them normally.

At least talking to them face to face and saying it is pretty loud where we live and would appreciate it if you could control it a little might be a good start.

Landlord: "hey, the tenant above you is complaining that you are making a lot of noise"

Nothing bad can come of that.

This reminds me of a show that used to be on tv called bad neighbors or something like that. One was a lady in an apt where the next door lady was literally mentally disturbed. Had fits of yelling and raging for hours a day despite she lived alone and talking to her about it apparently caused even more strange trouble to occur. Sounded like a nightmare.

It depends - are they assholes? If yes, they will slam the door harder and even leave a note to your note. Like; "To the coward pinko communist scum who is trying to make me live MY life how they see fit - get fucked."

I would 1st approach them and in a friendly manner, tell them to go soft on slamming the door. Unless you an anti-social / socially awkward, I can see why you would not like to take this approach.
