Not sure about a release date. Call of Duty 1 seemed bland, uninspired, and poorly balanced in comparison to MOH:AA. Honestly, when I hop off the hood of a jeep, I should not lose 50% of my health.

eh? That's Red Orchestra...CoD single player was rockin and multiplayer addictive, fast paced and well balanced.

I found CoD multiplayer a joke compared to BF1942.

The release date listed on Gamespy is October 2005.

As with most games, I'll try to read a few reviews first to get an idea on how it runs (mainly since my system is always mid-range...never top of the line). But, considering how much I still enjoy the original COD, odds are I'll buy it. :)

Not just that. I thought the bullet lead time in BF1942 required far more skill and required greater strategy.

Greater skill or a steeper learning curve? I mean once you've learned it you've learned it. Providing you stay in practice it's surely as easy as not leading? In fact if you play on bf1942 for weeks then go to another fps without lead time it'd prolly require more "skill" too huh? Until you get used to that etc etc.

Besides, due to smaller map size in CoD, bullet leading really wouldn't be necessary. But then I'm no expert on the power of ww2 weaponry :)

I've always found CoD to be superior to BF. It just seems a lot more realistic and less arcadey to me. Then again it could be that I play on a server where realism is encouraged and arcadism (new word of the day) is banned.

You serious? I thought BF1942 was a joke when it came to bullet lead time, among other things. It felt like crap. However, vehicles are fun. I don't see how you can compare the two though.
