Any Redbox customers here?

Thoughts on the vending machine service?

If you're not sure what I am talking about, click me

Even though there is a smaller selection of movies, I like how convenient the service really is (with machines in local grocery stores and McDonald's).

You can also easily use Google to find free rental codes.

I use it because it's convenient and I get free movies with all the free codes. I've never paid for a rental there.

Obviously the drawback is they don't have older movies, and a limited stock of newer ones.

It works great, I've used it several times. My only complaint is that the discs tend to be beat up and prone to skipping.

I haven't used it but it looks tempting. However, the kiosk always seems to have a line and I have no patience.

I have only had two movies so far (out of 10 or so) that were beaten up and scratched enough that they randomly skipped.

I think I am too lazy and stubborn to use the search function. :p

There is one in my tiny town, but it is out of the way in a place I have only visited once.

we get one every now and then, its pretty cool for when you don't have anything to watch (we have netflix too) and/or just have a craving for a quick movie

they also send out a lot of free rentals in e-mail which is pretty sweet/

I want housing to put them in the dorms here, big money maker potential I think.

Yes I'm sure that would go over REAL well with a bunch of drunk college guys - I can hear them now: "hey guys watch this" or "I wonder if a condom will fit in there" or "I'll just replace one with a video of 2G1C"

I use it all the time. It's great for new releases. $1 FTW! Screw Blockbuster's prices.

I've used it over netflix as some months there's nothing new I would want to watch, and other months there might be 3-4 that I am interested in.

I use the one that's across the street from me. I live off an exit on the interstate that's about 5 miles from the main exit into town, and it's another 6 or 7 minutes to the rental store, so heading across the street to the lone McD's on this exit is a no brainer.

Also, I LOVE that you can rent and reserve your title online before you head over there. You can go ahead and see if they have the movie you want, and if so, reserve it so you don't waste your time by finding somebody else already rented it.

I love Redbox. Have never had an issue, and use the coupons when I get them in my e-mail. It is so easy to do my shopping and when I'm done grab movie and go.
So when are they going to start renting bluray... Blubox coming soon??!?!!? Well I wish anyway.

I sent them an e-mail asking if they plan on renting Blu-ray titles sometime in the future, but haven't heard back from them yet.

At least it would lead to really amusing times...

Used it a few times and like the convenience. Since we have a kid, we rarely get the movies so the selection is fairly extensive for us. :D

I like it... its at the grocery store which is 5 mins from my house. $1/day can't really be beat. Now I wish they'd get games. :)

Very good, affordable service, though I am spoiled by netflix's easy returns.

If the box is along your regularly daily commute, it's great. If not, prepare to pay the $1/day late charges if you're lazy like me.
