Any recommendations for solutions to putting a laptop stand in my car?

I'd like to have a place to put my laptop while I'm driving to use as a GPS. Any recommendations on solutions for a laptop stand besides the obvious answer of sticking it in the passenger seat? Having a GPS where I have to look to the side and down for a second or two can't be safe, so I need a solution.

not worth the hassle and facing the increased possibility of being broken in and fixing your windows repeatedly.

Duct tape the laptop on your windshield, not like it matters, you won't be paying attention to the road anyway.

If you want to hard-mount it, look at police supply companies.

Maybe if the decent ones ever get cheaper. Until then, I have a cheap USB receiver that works perfectly fine.

I'm not going to leave my laptop in the car. This would be just for the one or two times a year I go on vacation and would like to use GPS to simply get out and drive to see the countryside.

I'll be the one to judge how safely I can drive. It's not like I'll even be looking at the screen hardly at all with voice directions. I just don't want to set my laptop in the seat.

Search "laptop car mount" on google, you'll find plenty of options.

Fuck google. I prefer asking opinions from actual people.

We're just words on a screen.

We are much more than that my friend. Much more.

It's still better interaction than completely random search hits.

This is a stupid idea. Having such a large screen for GPS will distract you and studies shows that when GPS are not in sight with the road, which obviously cant be achived with a laptop, your likely hood of crashes goes through the roof.

just buy one at Walmart when you go on vacation then return it. Unethical maybe, but efficient.

So, what you're saying is, that you have no clue how to use a search engine.

We put car mounts in the squad cars all the time. They are not pretty, will get in the way, and cost around $500. Installation is a bitch. I really suggest finding a way to secure it to your seat.
