Any reasons to keep my electronics boxes?

I've been saving the boxes for all of my electronics, computer parts, video game systems, peripherals, etc. I am going to be moving soon and this stuff seems pointless to have around. Besides being able to use the box just in case I have to RMA it, is there any reason to keep these things around if I have all the receipts / manuals stored away?

I keep most for 30days and then get rid of it. If it doe snot break in 30days then I guess I am pretty safe.

i save soem smaller one like for motherboards and of course static bags.

I always keep that stuff for when I sell the item.

Well most of it consists of computer parts, which I most likely wont be selling as I'll keep the computer for secondary use when I upgrade. The other stuff is for video game systems which I am also going to keep.

I'd like to save them all but I purge every so often. I have a 700 sq foot basement so why not save them right? I have my huge bosch miter saw box saved but the gf hates that and says it has to go.

I keep it all... mainly for some twisted sentimental value. I 'untwist' it by saying that I keep the big boxes for in case I move or have to send it in for warranty. Game boxes, I consider a work of art, so I throw out the cardboard reinforcement and keep the shell.

Alright, I'm just going to cut off the UPC of the important boxes and chuck them.
If you insist on keeping them, you can just flatten them and put them in a larger box.

I used to save them for the resale, but now with prices falling so fast it's not worth it except on the higher ticket items where the original box is also a lot better for shipping (using another box outside it).

I still keep all the manuals though.

I have been keeping mine, since I've been moving every year as a student. I'll probably throw them out though then I move into my first post-college apartment next month.

I have learned that as soon as I throw stuff away, i will need it very soon after that.

Well let's hope that's not true. I have all the UPC's in a ziplock, all the manuals / receipts stored away, and all the boxes are in the dumpster already.

i keep few boxes, notably -- video game boxes/cases (goes without saying), console boxes (for resale, will help retain value), and laptop boxes (resale). everything else is thrown out. with the exception of few computer parts that i'll keep until warranty is over. (mobo and video card).

I keep boxes until I get an urge to get rid of old crap then I throw em out

Although should I keep my 50 inch plasma box? I have in home service on it for 4 years, so the only reason to keep is if I move but the top part of the box lifts off the bottom so without straps it wont work anyway. Should I keep it or pitch it?

i used to but with 4 people living in 1000 sq feet of space I had to let all my glorious boxes go. RIP Genesis box 🙁

That is generally my mindset, much to Mrs.Pickins' chagrin.

Well my excuse is that we are moving to a house this fall and I need them for moving.
