Any reason to *not* get an Opteron 165?

Looking at an Opteron 165 or an x2 3800+ for xmas. 165 seems the clear choice at about $30 more retail than the x2 3800+ with double the cache. From what I've researched it's the clear choice but I thought i'd at least ask generally if there's anything bad about the Opteron 165 - are there bad steppings/etc?

Yeah, it is more expensive now. The 1mb of cache doesn't virtually nothing in everday use. Save your money and get a 3800+. When the 165's were ~299, hands down the best buy in the CPU market. But now that it rose $50, you might as well save your money.

Yeah, was my rationale. Sadly I may just go with the x2 3800+ because the Opterons may be out of stock for quite awhile - was going to just pick one up from Monarch since I live near them but they're now listing it as out of stock until the 20th.

Probably the biggest thing that'll force you to choose the 3800+ over the 165 this holiday season is the availbility of the 165s. Getting one is kinda hard right now. They sell out shortly after coming in at most places.
