Visible pixel structure.

If you are sensitive to it, even at normal to large viewing distances, then it may bother you to no end.
I prefer 1080p because I want a seamless viewing experience. 720p just doesn't cut it for me, but it may make no difference to you.

Ok, let me jump in here. 720p vs 1080p is very vague. Are we talking about a 720p Pioneer 8G plasma vs a current day 1080p Vizio? Are we talking about using it for a PC monitor where you'd be sitting 3 feet away? Are we talking about greater or less than 50"? Simply saying 1080p is better than 720p in all cases is actually incorrect. For instance, I'd take a Pioneer 5080 ANY DAY over a current gen 1080p Vizio/Dynex (I actually wouldn't take a Vizio/Dynex anything, but that's beside the point). Even when comparing a 720p Pioneer 5080 vs a 1080p Pioneer 5010, there are definitely some reasons to choose the 5080 over the 5010, and viewing distance is only one of the reasons. However, in 2008, I'd highly recommend getting a QUALITY 1080p set. And the brands I'd stick with are Pioneer, Panasonic, Sony and Samsung. Each one of those manufactures have VERY nice lines of TVs and have a nice wide price range (excluding Pioneer). I have a friend that is using a Samsung LN40A650 LCD (40" - 1080p) as his PC monitor and it looks great. 1920x1080 is a perfect resolution for a monitor that size and the distance he'd be viewing it at (~3'). 720p would just be too low of a resolution for that type of usage.

The 360 does 1080p. Been doing it for a long time.
