Panzer General sounds like it's a tank strategy game only, is this true? I wanna be able to do everything, ships, airplanes, tanks, artillery, that kind of game.

Does Close Combat have all of the above/

Do those 2 games have online play?

Also, if it does have online play, it isnt only 1 on 1 is it? I want to have like team games.

I'll go pick up Axis and Allies later, but right now, I want a video game. A computer strategy game.

It's a shame that the PC version of Axis and Allies was a bust. Wouldn't mind them trying to develop it again and getting it right.

Hidden And Dangerous is an FPS, but it's more strategic.
Commandos is also pretty good. Not your average strategy game, but strategy nonetheless. On-line play is cooperative and it's very very challenging.

I can't really think of any tactical games off the top of my head.

Agreed...it was a total piece of junk. If someone would do it right, I'd buy it for sure!

Medal Of Honor Allied Assault (MOHAA). NOT strategy, but so incredibly awesome!

The Panzer General series was good, although it is a turn based strategy game. For an RTS like WC, well I don't think there was too many, and most aren't well looked upon by hardcore wargamers. Off the top of my head there's Sudden Strike I & II, and I think Panzer Claws is an RTS. The Combat Mission games are supposed to be excellent, kind of a hybrid between turn based and real time, although I've heard the learning curve is rather steep.

Barbarossa to Berlin

Text

Combat Mission: Barbarossa to Berlin is a 1-2 player, hybrid turn-based/realtime 3D simulation of WWII tactical warfare on the Eastern Front from 1941 to 1945

This game is awesome. It's not a team multiplayer though.

If you don't mind crappy graphics, check out WinWar2. I have no idea where the site is, but I used to love playing that.

There are ways around that but for the most part your statement is correct.
