I agree that no game is going to replace driving an actual car, but it'll still work for at least getting the basics down if you have no clue how a clutch works to begin with.
And as exdeath pointed to, not all manuals are created equal.. not by a long shot. You can daily drive a manual with no issues, then jump into a totally different car and it'll take you a few minutes to readjust to a different clutch, clutch pedal, engine characteristics, etc.
