Don't see this discussed anywhere, and I did search, but you know how that goes.
I'm new to TeAm Anandtech Distributed computing team so I don't have much experience with it yet. But doing my part.

I have 3 machines running BOINC World Community Grid Client.
A 2.6 Celeron Server
A 1.73 Dothan lappy
A 2.13 Conroe desktop

But I have a feeling my G80 could wipe the floor with all three of them if appropriate software/drivers are available.

Sorry if this has been discussed already, but I did not find any topics via quick search.

Thanks,

Keys

Hey there, Keys! :)

Currently none of the BOINC project's science applications are set up to use the graphics card. The BOINC client has flags and hooks that make it possible, but none of the projects have taken advantage of them yet.

(That's the latest word I could find on this topic.) ;)

Great having you on the TeAm!

what about x1k series radeons? I read about them using DC but, um, the fan is a little too loud for my taste at 100 %...

@ Smoke: Thanks bud, I wasn't sure, but it would be very intense to have 96 instances going (if that is indeed how it would work?). Hopefully Nvidia will come through with software soon in cooperation with most DC foundations.

@ bryan: I know folks are doing F@H on X1k series Radeons. Heard they are VERY good at it too. And "Water cooling". :)
