Any programmers need something to do?

Right now I'm using an Excel Spreadsheet for this, but it would be nice if I had a little EXE I could run instead. What I'm doing is putting in one number, and having it calculate 6 other numbers based on the one entered. Shouldn't be that hard to accomplish, but I don't know the first thing about writing a program. Oh... I would also like it's to be able to "stay on top" of all other windows.

Anyone feel up to the task? No money in it (or maybe there would be if you could build in more features...) but maybe just something to do, or a project for class? Maybe extra credit?

It would be called a "Forex Straddling Calculator"

PM me if you're interested in messing with it for me and I'll send you the Excel Spreadsheet so you can get the formulae.

Why not just post the formula here? I can't help, but it might be a fun little project to play with later. 😛

It reminds me of a credit card number generator I saw a while back...

well, i got bored so i tried making one in perl...
click for zip file
i think you'll need perl interpreter to run the script..
otherwise, someone might be able to point us to a program that can convert perl script to windows executable so you won't be needing perl interpreter to run it...

btw, my efficiency on the script sucks .. it's been a long while ><;;

and oh, jeff..
does your "That's great... thanks a bunch!" imply that it's done already? -)
and thanks for letting us borrow your thread ,)

Yup, it's even gone through a revision, lol.
Of course I could think of tons of things to ad to it, but it would most likely be a little too much to ask somebody to do in their spare time without paying them =)

What exactly was that for?

It calculates the stop loss, limit, and entry price for any given currency pair in the Forex Market based on a straddling method of trading that I'm using.
