I think he meant, when all is said and done, how much did you spend? Between ground school, and in flight instruction. I too am wondering, because I would like to get a pilots license.

ahh my bad... Well i'm not totally done with my training yet but from a brochure I saw at my airport, on average, it would cost 8000 usd ... Then again, this cost varies depending on your skill level and the number of hours you fly...

So far, I have 56 hours and hence, have approx payed 8400 usd ... Am self studying and the only cost from a ground standpoint has been to buy the learning materials ( the whole kit which included the books and a few essential navigational instruments cost me 240 usd ) . I'm probably a month or two away from my checkride so I figure my total cost will average around 10000-11000 usd...

lucky! You get to train in a class B airport.... Does that mean that once you get your PPL, you are allowed to fly into class B airspace outside your home airport and land at the particular class B airspace airport ( such as LAX,etc ) ?
