Well, Intel has already cut their prices recently, and AMD has been selling their processors at rock-bottom prices for years, so assuming that was the 2 companies to which you were referring, no.

Price drops usually only happen around the time (meaning before AND after the release) new processors are released and/or new cores are released.

*EDIT* To answer your question better... expect a price drop in AMD's Athlon-64 FX line soon because the current ones are socket 940 and will be replaced by socket 939. Also expect a price drop in the Athlon-64 xx00+'s when the new cores for socket 754 are announed and/or new models are coming out.

Don't expect any significant price drops in Intel processors until the Prescott is ready... I'd be VERY surprised to see it before July.

Yeah, what Jeff said. But, the answer to your question is still no, unless soon to you is 3-6 months!
