SVC used to sell both the kits (invertor & 1 tube), but now they only seem to sell the tube (and only 1 color at that)

Anywhere else sell dual 6" kits?

Not bad if you have a monitor and stuff at both locations so you dont have to carry everything around. Otherwise a laptop would work way better.

Yeah, laptops don't really exceed in bang for your buck performance the way desktops do. What kind of graphics card do you have in your SFF? I'm running on board graphics for mine becuase i wanted to keep size and power consumption down so i could run a fanless PSU.

<-- hijacking aphex's thread ;)

I have a 9800pro. It really does add to teh noise because i can't control the fan speed.

sweet. Having a SFF as a decent gaming rig would be nice, However i really think my next goal is to build a decent SFF as a HTPC, i'd actually like to just buy the MAC MINI- but i dont think the software is out there for it that i want.

When I get another computer I'm turning this SFF into a media center. Im gonna get a mid tower next time cuz i really like modding and the possibilies are really lmited with a SFF

yeah, i got into SFF when i got out of my modding phase. I dont really game or anything anymore so a powerful computer isn't that important. I never understood how people dealt with those huge ass towers though. Sure, they're a hell of a lot easier to work in and mod.. but damn, It's like putting a VW beetle under your desk.

Oh and aphex, I would personally get some LED cannons or strips instead of cathodes. There are stories of cathode inverters blowing up and pwning the sh1t out of a computer. It's one of the reasons i dont keep mine on anymore.

I wonder how long it will be until we start seeing manufactures like DELL and HP making IMAC clones with the guts built into the monitor. (talk about no ability to upgrade...)

I think Dell can find a good market for them since alot of the users of Dell have no interest in upgrading individual parts

If they could do it affordably, i'd probably consider it. That was actually my first project as a SFF'er, failed miserably though becuase i couldn't figure out how to mount things to the back of an LCD. I had grand ideas though. :)
