Any pizza delivery people here?????

i was thinking about quitting my telemarketing job and being a pizza delivery guy. how much do you usually make in tips, and how much do you make an hour total (on average)? how many deliveries per hour do you make, and how big of a tip does each person usually give you?

I used to be one but its been 15 years. Friday nights is pretty good money.

I used to make $150 dollars in tips in about 5 hours.

i know a couple of guys that work as pizza delivery guys...

There starting wage is $3.50 per hour...

One of my buddies made $650 in tips in one day... Friday night, 8 hour shift... Not bad if you ask me...

If you want to make money (i.e. tips) you have to hustle. For a while, I used the owners VW Golf. I would load it up without about 8 pizzas and FLY! If you like driving fast, you'll enjoy it.

Seriously, a 19 yr old girl I know made $4000 on Saturday night working about 6 hours. Kinda makes you scratch your head and wonder what that college education is for sometimes, doesn't it?

at $10 per tip (being generous), that means he delivered to 400 houses...

there are 360 minutes in 6 hours...

that means he delivered more than 1 pizza a minute...

Man, I am in the same boat. I quit Godfather's a couple of weeks ago, and now I am telemarketing. I can't stand it. I feel like sh!t calling these people who obviously don't want what I am selling, but I have to be an a$$hole and keep pushing for it. It sucks big time. I am thinking about driving for PapaJohn's, they just put an ad in the paper. The money here(Iowa) isn't nearly as good as what these other guys have been saying. With gas taken out of your paycheck, look from anywhere between $9-$20 an hour including tips. It depends if the place is busy and the demographics of the delivery area.

It really depends on where you live and how much area you cover. the more populated areas you'll never have a downtown, and you will get more tips some of smaller areas you'll have massive dead times and most people either won't tip or don't tip very much.
I worked in Salt Lake in utah and got an average of about $100 a night. and on a good night it would be closer to $200. wher eI currently live it was closer to about $30 to $40 a night. and $50 on the weekends

I was a delivery driver for Little Caesar's about 7 years ago in their test market. I was getting 6.00/hr plus 7% commission plus tips---and I got my commission at the end of my shift, so I was usually taking home over 100.00 a day, plus my weekly 200.00 check. Several times I'd take home close to 200.00 in a night. I was probably averaging between 4-6 deliveries/hour. Most tips are 2-3 bucks, but the good ones are from the drunks---one guy gave me a 22.00 tip on an 18.00 order. There are a few things that suck---getting robbed, bogus orders, people that don't tip even when it's a large order(I had a 30 pizza order that I delivered to a church, and got no tip---thank god for the commission). If I had a small car right now instead of a minivan, I might do it again.
