Where did you try an S3? The U.S. models haven't been officially announced yet.

The local cell modding store, the owners always seems to have the latest import phone. He said if I wanted it he'd let it go for $1,000 what a deal :D

Perhaps it wasn't the S3 and he was messing with me, hummmm I need to go back and see if he was trying to sell me the international version of the Skyrocket or something for a G. lol

It could be one but they have been out such s short amount of time I wouldn't expect there to be a lot of imported ones yet.

But again, most of us don't give a shit about your review sites and prefer to have hands on time. So, when most of us can get to a store to handle a S3, we'll see.

Review sites have the time and the competence, to compare and get into all the details. Look at the phone reviews here at Anand as an example where there is put an enormous time and competence into the reviews.

A short trial in a shop is important, but i think most here read review sites to get a better understanding, and to qualify their buying decisions. Its linked together. Notice its all the reviews so far, to my knowledge, who have said S3 is smooth and very fast. In this context your personal opinion is worth exactly how much?

reviewers have said the same about other android devices and yet here we are.

I find the browsing on an iphone slow as hell. Not "lag" slow. Its like I have to flick my finger a hell of a lot more than I do on my sgs2. On the s2 I can quickly flick my finger and the page zips by, on my ip4 It doesnt do that and it irritates me. I dont know if that is what this thread is referring to but that how I feel.

Nah. Thats just the max scrolling rate. The iPhone caps it so that it feels smoother while Android just goes for maximum speed at the cost of "smoothness"

On a vertical scrolling basis it takes me 5-11 flicks on my 4s to scroll through 50 posts. On my samsung tab it only takes me 3-4 flicks.

Responsiveness goes to 4s by a mile though.

Every Android device has massive input lag. I can tap a list item on my SGS2 first then with the same finger quickly tap an item on my iPhone 4 lying next to it and the iPhone 4 will start loading the item before the list item's background even gets highlighted on the SGS2. This is easily a delay of 200ms.

Make a video if you can, 30fps should be fast enough to make that kind of lag visible between frames. The video bellow shows some scrolling latency which can also be seen by enabling developer settings for touch on android. I guess it's slightly noticeable as reduced responsiveness in use but everyone gets used to it.

Yes I get "used" to it, but when I pick up my ancient iPhone 4 after a few days I am instantly blown away by the instantaneous response and I think "How the hell did I believe Jelly Bean was butter smooth again?".

Even when dialing a number the buttons trail my input by 2 digits but they are INSTANTANEOUS on the iPhone 4.
