Any P8Z68-V/GEN3 (non pro) owners?

I'm no expert but it seems a great board. I just flicked the TPU switch on the board and it overclocks itself. My 2500k goes up to 4.33 🙂 I started a tread a bit further down.
 
I have had great experiences with it. As mentioned by johnno, when I changed the setting to XMP the board takes my 2500k up to 4.3GHz (at load) with no sweat at all.

The only caution is if you are putting it in a smaller case or if your case will conflict with the orientation of the SATA ports, which can be a little annoying. Other than that, I love the board.

I have an Antec 300 case.. I have a feeling it will be crammed inside it since it is a full sized ATX board. I hope the overclocking options are a little more detailed on this board than my Asrock. For some reason I had some troubles adjusting the vcore since my CPU runs at 4.4ghz @ 1.18v.

I use this board very easy to overclock and lot of ways to do it ie via Bios or TPU switch or from within Windows via Asus AI suite.

I set my multiplier to 44x100 in Bios and left everything on auto ,instant 4.4GHz for the lazy lol for my 2500k(default is 3.3GHz).

I have it in an Antec Sonata III which is smaller than your 300. It's a little cramped but not a big deal (at least to me). The orientation of the SATA ports is annoying in my case, but nothing I'd consider a showstopper.

I have all four memory slots full with 4GB sticks, totally stable with the 4.3GHz o/c.
 
I just installed the board. (Didn't power on yet) My first impressions are a little disappointing. I can understand the size of the board, ok. But to me once I installed everything except the heatsink, it seemed that the board was very flimsy. 2nd, the ram slots needed a ton of force and I didn't get why only one side had clips and the other didn't, and lastly, all the sata cables that were supplied were angled. I am glad I had a couple extra straight cables because it would of been impossible to connect all my harddrives in my case.

My ram slots needed some force however did mine out of case by pushing on the ends rather then centre so not an issue,the idea behind having only one side not having clips is so it does not interfere with video card slot when removing or installing ram ,supposed to make it easier to install as well.


Angled connectors can be tricky but easy to connect them out of case before you install board into case,as to being flimsy well its like any other motherboard where you do have to have some tender loving care when handling it ie being careful you don't damage trace circuit elements etc.....I was more worried about bent pins on CPU socket then the board in general.

Thanks for the insight mem! The reason why I had so many issues with the angled connectors is because my SSD mounts on the floor of the case which makes it impossible to use an angled connector.
 
Can someone confirm that I see no options to enable/disable C-states or C1E?
