Anyone heard of anyone ever oveclocking the Sempron 3100+ to 2.7 ghz?

I am just wondering if its possible to overclock a Sempron 3100+ to 2.7 ghz.

On average, what is the limit you can overclock the Sempron 3100+ to? Anyone know? I am just trying to figure out what numbers I should expect if I stick a Sempron 3100+ on a Lanparty 250gb with the best possible ram + water cooling?

Anyone know?

He only reached 2.5 ghz abouts in that article. I already had read that article :)

I am wondering what are the odds of reaching 2.7 ghz on this chip? Slim to none? Or is there a good chance?

On air not very likely...but with a good HSF you never know. With a decent water setup it seems like it shouldn't be a problem. :)

Charloscarlies,
Could you show us your specs, ram, cooling, some bios settings for your sempron setup?
Thanks,
Rhoel

Yes.

-Stock cooling
-bh-5 using the 166 mem ratio 2-2-2-10 1t 2.7vdimm
-HTT 270...LDT 3x
-1.55 vcore in bios (1.575ish actual)
-1.7 volts on the chipset

Ummm....can't think of what else. If I'm missing something ask away. So far I've been very impressed with this system. Once I get a better cooling solution I'm gonna crank the vcore up to 1.6-1.65 and see how far she'll go. :) The only real limiting factor is my board doesn't seem to like more than 280ish HTT which can be a problem with only the 9x multi.

Anyone know what the Lanparty 250GB is reliable up to for the HTT?

Is 300 the limit on the Lanparty 250 GB or can you do higher then that? And is it reliable at that number? Just because its listed in the BIOS doesn't mean it can work reliably at that number, so trying to find out from someone who knows its reliable at high numbers for HTT?

Anyone know?

I think AT did a nice review of the Lanparty. It looked like the only 754 board that would do 300 HTT stable without any mods. Might want to check some of the reviews though.

Nice overclock with a stock cooler even. I should have my 3100+ next week. Got it on from Monarch on the last day at $99.
Thanks for the info

Well I got it stable at 1.5 vcore in bios (which is like 1.525 actual) at 9 x 270 = 2430 on the retail HSF. I get blue screened at anything above 270 no matter what chipset voltage I use. It is quite odd

I might need some better cooling on the chipset, but the chip definitely has a lot more OC'ing headroom. What I wouldn't give for a 10x multi. Oh well... 2.4 ghz at basically stock voltage isn't too shabby. :)

Received mine yesterday. Running at 2400GHz on first day. Upgrading the 380w PSU to 520w this week, as voltages are already low at idle (MBM displays 11.13v on 12v rail)
