Jedi I'm not argueing about the laws of physics, I'm stating what my software is saying my temp is at and I looked up the temp in my area to get an ambient. I didn't make these numbers up right now I have a 22C on both cores, it's cooler outside than 22C that's for sure right now. During the day my temps don't change on the cores they stay just about the same even though it's hotter. Right now the Vigor 5.25" bay thing with a temp on it is reading 26C so *shrug* if you want temps off that to help you sleep at night sure I'll give you those, which are MUCH lower under load than what Coretemp reads, infact I don't believe I've ever seen it go above 39C. Laws of physics whatever I know what you guys are saying, but my case is closed it's got plenty of air flow and my cpu is just as cool as the temperature outside so what you are going to call me a liar when I have proof? Zip code 90503, core temps 21 and 22 you look it up I don't really care I'll be home at 5pm tomorrow after work and I'll come post my temps again and I will post the temp it is outside given by weatherunderground. I'm just curious how other people like their Vigor Monsoon II. I've read by others like aigomorla that they think it's crap yet it's the best cooler I've tried, Zalman 9700, Scythe Infinity, Scythe Ninja Rev B Plus, all don't keep my cpu as cool as my Vigor.

The VID is 1.35 =\ which is crap my old one that I had before my OCZ psu went poof(literally) was like 1.25 i believe I can put it in this weekend and check working this week and I'm to lazy to do it while I'm working =)

Edit- oh btw when I got home my core temps were 21 and 20c when I first looked going no higher than 22c. So it's right on with the temp outside today again I'm in a garage with 3 pc's on insulated everything so it's a degree or so hotter in here on average, a lot stuffier than the fresh air to might I add(i need to do laundry) =)

sorry, ive been busy at work. One of my clients passed away, and i was helping his family with the payout on his life insurence.

As for the overclocking, u need to set your your voltages near max to get a good 3.6ghz overclock in the 680i boards.

You need to almost max out your MCP and SPP voltages, as well as the MCP > SPP voltages.

This will cause your NB to overheat unless you have some sort of big fan on the sink, or an aftermarket heat sink. Im also starting to guess its your NB overheating thats limiting you to overclocking.

This is also why I HATE my 680i. But its the most expensive board i currently own, so i cant just TOS it out. :\

Download NTUNE, and let me see a snap shot of your NVMonitor, both temps and the main front where all your voltages are coming out. I can help you more deeply with those info.

aigomorla nothing would make me happier than to get you a screen shot of that for some more help oc'ing and I don't think the NB is the problem my case is rather cool and the hs doesnt' feel that hot at all with the stock one on there. I know 3.6ghz is possible with this board my previous e6600 hit 3.73ghz stable on air w/ 1.5125v in bios and I never touched the mcp or spp voltages left them on auto. It ran fine till my psu went poof. I'm uninstalling ntune and nvmonitor, once it's done uninstalling I'll try reinstalling it to see if it works if not I don't know what to do. I never had this problem before untill this most recent re-install of vista ultimate 64

Kind of got it to run... It was eating up 50% of my cpu cycles just running this thing it never updated the temp once my coretemp was going all over the place I snapped it right when the temp bar popped down on it which took bout 3 minutes after clicking it then it crashed shortly after. I have no idea why it refuses to run. I have the newest nvidia drivers for the motherboard, newest bios, and newest video drivers so *shrug* it's just junk I guess.

try uping these and lowering these:
FSB voltage to 1.5
HT 1.55
nForce 1.625

Set your MCP and SPP to x4 not x5

Cpu voltage to 1.5 <-- work your way down until u get a stable voltage.

If you cant do 3.6 @ 1.5 on a A bin, then i think your CPU is a bad bin. :\

I had to have it @ 1.55v+ in bios to get 3.6 even into windows.

EDIT- OOPS MISTAKE!! That id number is from my original E6600's box that went poof, the new box is at my buddies I won't be able to get it till tomorrow!!! DOH!!! I forgot man my bad =\ I did the settings you said anyways and this cpu actually got into windows but I'm doubting the stability thus far going to do an orthos run for 30 minutes and see what happens, fyi temps for the cpu @ this speed are 21-23c with just IE, Coretemp, CPU-Z open atm so pretty much idle.
