any other republicans not excited about romney?

i'm a registered republican, though i'm not particularly happy with the republican party.

i believe in:

free market, or moving towards a free-er market.
relatively strict interpretations of the constitution, including civil rights, rights against unreasonable search/seizure, etc.
ending affirmative action

and so on.

Mitt Romney stands for none of these things. Beyond Newt Gingrich, there's no bigger poster child for corporate cronyism on the republican ticket than Romney.

Santorum is a flake that was attempting to pander to the religious right. I don't want that either.

the only cantidate who's close to my views is Ron Paul, and it seems absurd that people won't vote for him because "he's unelectable".

I cannot get excited about Romney, and I do not believe he will win the general election.

If its any consolation I am a registered democrat and I'm not excited about any branch of government, they all suck and do the bidding of the .5% of the population that fund the election cycle.

I'm a Republican, I'm not excited or happy about a Romney run for the presidency. We're faced with another bad/worse choice. Romney is a bad choice, Obama is a worse choice.

Romney stands for nothing. Whatever is politically useful to him that day is what he severely "believes." I guess as a republican, you have to accept that anyone who is a consistent conservative is unelectable and settle for an occasional one.

As I've said before, in the general election Romney will run to the left of Obama. He's a total centerless piece of shit.

I'm really not excited about romney . . . . he's establishment status quo and isn't what we need right now. that said i may vote for him regardless because I dont' like obamas class warfare BS

+1 I am not happy with him either. People need to stop voting for a person just because of the letter next to his name. If enough people for someone that they believed in and not the letter, we on the right might get a actual conservative and not a rich guy with enough money to play one. I will once again be looking to a 3 party person to put my support behind.

I've been voting for almost 40 years. I've never been excited about any candidate and I've voted on both sides of the aisle. What I've seen on my short time on this earth is an increasing trend of elected officials moving towards a tiered society with themselves at the top. They pass laws that effect everyone but themselves and we stand by and let them do it. There's nothing to get excited about.

Obama was voted in because he wasn't Bush and Romney will be voted in because he's not Obama. We'll be the better for it. The question is how much. We can't ignore the debt our country is racking up. We must stop the spending. There will be pain, but far less than if we continue as if there are no consequences. There are consequences. They (politician's) know it, we know it too. We're hoping it somehow all magically works out, but it's not going to. It's going to take hard work and sacrifice. It's going to take passing a budget. When is the last time our government had one in place? Could you run your household without one?

It's not going to happen under Obama's watch. His goal is to tear down our society so he can rebuild it in the image of a dream from his father. A dream from his parents, his grandparents, his mentor's, the people who paid for his education, the people who got him elected, the people who hide his transcripts, the people he's hired, and the list goes on. All share the same dream and the United States of America as it stands today is not in that dream. It's obvious if you just open your eyes.

Excited about Romney? Why would you need to be excited? He's the only chance we've got.

I dunno... I kinda like Obama. I don't think you can 100% for someone I suppose you could but... Well, I think Obama is doing what he can... being a lame duck president. It ought to be interesting to see what he can do in the next 4 years. I have yet to see a Republican I could like. Bush was uber retarded and a disaster for 8 years. At least "I Think" Obama is going to leave with the country in somewhat better shape as far as the economy is concerned. That is more important then going to war with Iran or whatever else the mumble jumble republicans want to do.

I see Romney is already playing the terrorist card. I think it will be fun to watch debates.

I wouldn't say that I am 'excited', but it would be infinitely better than obummer, and I have confidence that Romney would put more qualified people on the SCOTUS if he were to be elected.

Mitt Romney stands for none of these things.
Agreed🙂 I think it's amazing how the only one who is against affirmative action is the one who gets the most votes from people who are "protected" by affirmative action. No matter how much Newt and Mitt pander to blacks, they'll never get their vote.

I'm and independent voter.

Romney makes no sense as the front runner.

Everyone is talking jobs, jobs, jobs... This man made his millions literally destroying American jobs.

People bash Obamacare and Romneycare is the same thing...

In 20 years are your rants going to become more rabid about end of the world scenarios brought on by Manchurian Democratic presidents or just stay about the same?

Not a registered republican... but plan to vote for whoever is running against obama... no I don't get excited about Romney at all. I do get excited that he is not a religious nutball like Santorum.... but that is about it.

I love it when the Republican base is disenfranchised which definitely was apparent in my States Republican Primary.

This is the Republicans John Kerry.

None of them are exciting and they are running on issues nobody cares about.

IWell, I think Obama is doing what he can... being a lame duck president.

This is my worry. Obama is not trying hard to do all the bad things he wants to do because he wants to be reelected. If what we see now is him being nice...well, I worry about him when he does not even have to pretend to care about the electorate.

I am not thrilled with Romney, but he is better than what Obama will be if reelected. If nothing else, it will give the dems 4 years to find someone worthy of voting for. I know, I know, but I can hope they do!

THey are constitutional worlds apart. STATE healthcare is both legal and a good idea. FED GOV healthcare would both fail miserably AND be horribly expensive.

It is irritating that so many people still believe they are the same.

Now this, ladies and gentlemen, is some grade A crazy.

They are certainly similar in their MA background and complete lack of charisma. I have actually been feeling for some time like this election could easily end up like 2004 - an unpopular sitting President who looks highly vulnerable, but wins due to such an unappealing alternative.

Regarding your feelings: Welcome to 10 years ago? If you're a fiscal conservative the Republican party has offered nothing but smoke to blow up your ass for a decade. Hell, you could argue for several decades.

But hey, at least he's not Frothy.
