Maximum PC...

I know it's a magazine, but they rock! And for $25 for a full years subscription you can't do wrong. Plus the demo disc they give you is pretty damn good.

:Q Reading printed articles on computer related stuff is like having your mail delivered via Pony Express :Q

Why can't you do both. I visit all the online hardware forums but I love it when I get my monthly Maximum PC magazine. Plus.. you can't take the computer with you in the bathroom. I save all my Maximum PC magazines as there are some good articles.

If you guys are taking Maximum PC into the bathroom rather than Maxim, then there is something seriously wrong with you :)

Well, out of them all Anandtech is the best..

however, Aceshardware.com has the best (if not very pretty) forums whom people actually have very intelligent discussions, and rarely any flamers.

Beyond3d.com has very good forums on 3D card technology, 3D software developements and 3D coding.

Xbitlabs.com is like The Inquirer except has less stigma attached to it.

Physics Forums has very nice forums for anything you want to ask about the physics behind anything, and has a very interesting Philosophy/Religion section in the forum which is definitely thought provoking. Sorry, i just had to add this one.

I visit all these sites regularily!

I really like Aceshardware, they actual do the analysis and explain the reason(s) behind them. Where as most sites will pump out lots of benchmarks and don't explain anything at all.

Whether Tom's hardware reviews are good or not, you have to give them credits on other stuff, like their guides.

I like tom's video card shootouts. Very informative if you're in the market for an older card and are wondering how it stacks up against the new boys.

PCMagazine and CNET are useful in that the systems they recommend are the most expensive PoC anywhere.

That's who I was thinking of. Weren't they the ones who used to do MEGA video card roundup reviews (reviewing like 32 cards every month??) Or was that Xbitlabs. Both of those are very strong regardless.
