Age of Conan is like PvP Borderlands with swords and spells instead of guns. Though, it has been so long since I've played either, I could be wrong. AoC is free to play now, I think.

There were Hellgate:London

dont. you will have no where to play it online. they stopped supporting the game a while back.

I know it's a necro,

but I wanted to mention that Hellgate is very much available as free, open beta right now.

I haven't played it in a couple of months, but the client is sitting my desktop and I do have a character up to level 10 or something. no idea--way too grindy and boring skill trees.

but yeah, it was bought a year or two ago and re-released. T3Fun or somesuch Korean company.

If one finds the play a bit lacking, one might, at least, gain enjoyment out of the horrid Engrish in the scripting.

Dead Island is basically Borderlands with zombies. So I would start there.

Saints Row the Third is also excellent for Coop.

You can also play Serious Sam 3 if you're into mindless shooting w/o character progression.

A bit of a Necro Bump on this... I may post a new thread but this fit.

A friend of mine and I were heavy Borderlands players. Sometimes just going on the hardest levels to see how fast we could go through them (at the end). Eventually, we got bored and moved on.

Looking for more games that allow a bit of shoot-em-up or adventure multiplayer (w/o subscription) is what we are after but most seem to be single player (Bulletstorm, Fallout, Stalker) or just too involved/convoluted to enjoy on a casual basis (Magika).

Any recommendations?
