Any opinions on the powerblock adjustable dumbells here?

Ive been lurking over at bodybuilding.com forums and for adjustable weights they seem dead set on either the powerblocks or the ironmasters which are more difficult to change weight, i was almost sure i would go buy the bowflex selec tech ones that are 90lbs, but they said all the plastic makes them weaker. Ive already ordered the powerblock elite 5-50lbs with the stand and 55-90lbs add on.

I know theres much cheaper alternatives but i need an adjustable dumbell because i only ever do curls with my current spinlock set because its a total pita to change the weight when i want to do something different, so i never do the chest fly equivilent with dumbells, or any other excercise because the weights too heavy and its annoying to keep changing them. Also im a student so ive not really got the space for a full reck of hex weights or the time to make regular gym visits.

Any opinions on the powerblocks here? Anyone used them or their bowflex/ironmaster equivilents?

Ive got a membership at the nearby gym (not the uni one), its great and theres even a jacuzzi to go in afterwards, but i dont have the time to go there all that often because ive got to study for exams, i just finished a 23 thousand word dissertation too so ive just been sticking to the spinlocks and this excercise mat at home. Also if i get up and simply cant be bothered going to the gym i can usually just do a home workout, ive made decent gains in the past few weeks doing that, and eating a can of tuna afterwards.

The uni's gym is too far away and has no jacuzzi and i have no classes anymore anyway lol im done on that front, just exams to study for and thats it.

You spent $600 on a set of dumbbells that will break if you drop them because you're too lazy to change the weights on your spinklock dumbbells?

Its my money to do what i want with and yes it will allow me to easily do other excercises without having to change the spinlock weight each time. Which IMO is a pita.

I never drop my dumbells anyway, the power blocks have a decent reputation over at bodybuilding.com durability wise, they shouldnt be dropped but may survive if dropped according to 1 guy i simply wondered if anyone here used them and what they thought.

It's just not worth it imo. Just get some solid non-interchangeable weights, you can even put them on a small rack. You don't need a whole complete set, only the weight you currently use.
