Any opinions on Sanyo Denki fans?

Hey, All,

I have another thread going re case fans, but wanted to ask another question while I'm at it.

I notice Sanyo Denki makes case fans that are made in Japan. I like to avoid buying anything made in China if I have a choice (not always possible, of course). Obviously just being made in Japan doesn't automatically make them good, so I just thought I'd ask if any of you have any experience using SD fans, and if so, what your opinion of them is.

If it matters, I'm interested in 80mm and 120mm sizes.

PS: If anyone knows of a vendor still selling the Japanese-made Panaflo's, by all means clue me in.

Panaflo is now NMB-MAT, pretty sure it's all China now.

San Aces are very good fans. Most are loud at stock voltages, but in general move a lot of air and are pretty quiet once you put them on a fan controller (or just undervolt them outright). Can't speak for the 80mm but in general their quality is excellent.

San Aces are godly for their amazingly smooth bearings and high static pressure.
They're not the most silent of case fans at stock though. (120mm)

For 80mm, I still have a stash of "old" Japanese Panaflos, don't see too many new cases using 80mm fans that aren't low profile/htpc-types though.
