So i went to the doctor for a physical and he was all like "you got lots of moles". So I was like "yah i know". Then he went on saying that i should go to the dermatologist to get evaluated for any suspicous moles (possible melinoma). Im all like "wtf they never been a problem before". Well then he schooled me on the finer points of dysplasic moles and how they can possibly cause cancer and what not. So then I called my old man and hes like "Man F that I ahve as many moles as you do (I get them from him) I'm 52 and its never been a problem for me, in fact in our family no one has ever died of cancer. Then he went on to say that if i have any particularly dark moles or ones that bleed or pus I should see a doc (thats not the case though)." The doc gave me a once-over and didnt find anythign of consiquence (he was a GP though so thats not saying much).
So I natrually freaked out after this visit and went home and checked my self over (the back was hard to do) nothing that too out of the ordinary, there were a few "atypical" moles but nothing that I havent had for quite some time now. Anyways I was wondering if there are any fellow mole-mongers and how frequently you check yourself and what you look for (I am aware of the ABCD's but some of my moles match one of those criteria, esp the "b") .
Im planning on going to the dermotologist in late Dec/Jan so I have quite some time to observe things.
