The heatwave in my area has finally came. Idle temps on my athlon xp went up by 10 C. Room temp is around 85 F. Had to switch over to my Intel rig cause the AMD one is like a friggin heater.

Well, I was going to, but now I'm not so sure because I've hit a little problem...When I put the HSF on my new nforce board, the clip seemed awful loose to me compared to the Volcano and AX7 that are in my other two rigs. It's not so loose that the thing rattles, but the clip didn't seem as stiff as the other two were. Heh, I actually had to fight with the AX-7 for a while to get it on; this thing popped on the first time I tried it. Ah well, guess I'll just test it and see what happens...unless somebody thinks this is something worth worrying about.

EDIT: Oops  I thought the title said plans. Oh well, story still works :p

I ordered a Swiftech MCX4000 and a 92mm fan. Re-aplying the as3 also. Not that its hot in canada just because cool is good.

I guess the "ultra-quiet" crowd ain't talkin'??

I wonder how those one-fan Sonatas handle weather like this?

I wouldn't consider my rig "ultra-quiet" but fairly-quiet :D I took out the 40cfm 80mms and my TT smartfan II. Replace my case fans with 20dba's. Stuck in a 120mm I'll be using in my WC setup and now my HD is louder then the fans. WD HDs have the most annoying whine. Time to quiet down the HD...

My house is a split level. My lower level ipartly below ground so it stays pretty cool during the summertime. I have a ceiling fan that keeps the room at about 78-80 F. I idle at about 39C, and load at 44-45C.

Some of you must have some really crappy cooling setups... with a room temp of 22 C my case temp is also 22 C, and my CPU temp is 38 C
Room temp was at 30 the other day, case temp at 30, CPU temp at 42.
And no, the side panel of my case is not removed, it's on, my computer sits about 8 inchs off the floor, I have 2 80mm intake fans, 2 80mm exhaust fans, 1 80mm slot exhaust fan, and then the two fans in the power supply of course.

Basement has kept kinda cool (so far)...

Other than that, i keep the case open cause my cpu is ruined, but the increased room heat seems to have done a bit more to my vid card than my cpu.....

Ah good ol' vancouver, the best climate in North America... we never go above 30, and seldom go below 0.

Heh...I moved my computer down to the basement where it is about 20 F cooler. My case temps are in the mid-high 20 C's. Yeah....my room just got too hot especially with that heatwave.

My room temp is almost always above 30c. I had to tone my CPU from 1.8 down to 1.75 or so. Thankfully, my watercooling/TEC setup will be done in a week or two.
