Any non-apple MP3 players that work with ipod dock-type accessories?

Just curious if apple is the only one. I've seen some Sandisk units that have the same connector type but they don't seem to be compatible with made-for-ipod docks.

Yeah, I know you can use the line-in / line-out stuff on some items, I'm just curious if there are some made-in-china or other brands that unofficially plug-in? Anybody have any they've seen online? Or is it a restricted thing?

I did search but not coming up with much.
